Ian MacCallum – President
(Certified Arborist #PN-0158A, Certified Tree Risk Assessor #478)
Ian MacCallum and Jane Hunt are the owners of TFL. Ian got his start in the tree care business as a ground man in 1979 and his love of climbing mountains made it an easy transition to climbing trees. Ian learned the trade by working at several different Seattle area tree care companies while expanding his knowledge of trees with his active membership with the International Society of Arboriculture. After 11 years in commercial tree care Ian took on the challenge of becoming the full time Arborist for Broadmoor Golf Club. In 1993 Ian decided to start on his own venture which is now Trees For Life. His love of trees has been the guiding force from day one and in 2001 Ian was awarded the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture’s “Commercial Arborist of the Year” Award. For three years Ian taught Arboriculture at Lake Washington Vo -Tech College in Kirkland and among other things is currently trying to “grow” the Montana branch of TFL. Ian’s wife Jane has been the Business Manager of Trees For Life since 1993 and when Ian and Jane are not talking all things TFL they are off hiking and climbing in the Cascade and Rocky Mountains. Ian and Jane have two sons; Alec a junior at the University of Puget Sound and Bryce and junior at Bigfork High School.
Scott comes to TFL with over 30 years in the tree care industry. After graduating in 1980 with a BS degree in biology, Scott learned the tree care trade by working for several companies in the San Diego area, starting out briefly as a ground man and quickly becoming a climber. Twenty years later and bolstered by a broad range of experience and his Arborist Certification, he started his own (Seattle) company, which after a very successful run Scott decided sell in 2008. After selling his business Scott attained his Board Certified Master Arborist, Tree Risk Assessor and WSDA Pest Applicator certifications and ventured into tree consulting. Missing the daily challenges and opportunities that accompany managing a tree company-and the pleasure of working face to face with clients to help solve tree care problems – Scott welcomed the opportunity to become part of the Trees For Life family. Scott serves as the primary Arborist Representative to TFL and assumes responsibility for day-to-day operations.

Kelly Duncan – Office Manager
Kelly came to TFL in 2005 after serving in the Navy as an electrician for 20 years on the aircraft carrier Abraham Licoln. Kelly started out in the field “learning the ropes” of the daily operations of tree care. While in the Navy Kelly began pursuing a degree in accounting with Columbia College. In 2008 Kelly’s skill with numbers made him the obvious choice to become the office manager for TFL.
